Technical Specifications & Details

Overview

Heat Resistant Aramid Webbing (SKU: AW-HR-001) is a high-performance flat webbing woven from premium para-aramid continuous filament yarns, engineered for applications where sustained exposure to elevated temperatures would degrade or destroy conventional synthetic straps. The webbing retains its structural integrity in continuous service up to approximately 250°C (482°F) and offers short-term resistance to intermittent spikes near 400°C (752°F) without melting or dripping. Unlike nylon or polyester webbing, para-aramid does not thermally soften; instead it chars and self-extinguishes, making it suitable for critical safety and thermal-management assemblies.

Key Features & Specifications

  • Material and construction: 100% para-aramid (para-phenylene terephthalamide) filament yarn, tight plain/twill weave with reinforced selvage edges to resist fraying and edge abrasion under load.
  • Tensile / breaking strength: Rated tensile strength ranges from approximately 6,000 lbs (26.7 kN) for 25mm width up to 12,000 lbs (53.4 kN) for 50mm width, depending on weave density and ply count. Standard AW-HR-001 (50mm) is rated at 8,000 lbs (35.6 kN) minimum breaking strength.
  • Width and thickness: Available in standard widths of 25mm (1"), 38mm (1.5"), and 50mm (2"); nominal thickness 1.8mm–2.4mm depending on width and weave. Custom widths from 10mm to 100mm are producible.
  • Thermal performance: Continuous operating temperature up to 250°C (482°F); limiting oxygen index (LOI) of 28–30%, classifying it as inherently flame-retardant and self-extinguishing. Does not melt or support combustion under normal atmospheric conditions.
  • Abrasion and cut resistance: High resistance to surface abrasion and cut-through owing to aramid's high modulus; retains greater than 90% of rated strength after standard flex-abrasion cycling.
  • Elongation and dimensional stability: Low elongation at break, typically 3%–4.5%, providing minimal stretch under load for stable, predictable performance in load-bearing and positioning applications.
  • UV and chemical notes: Good resistance to most organic solvents, oils, and hydrocarbons; moderate resistance to UV exposure — for prolonged outdoor service, a protective coating or sheath is recommended, as para-aramid loses strength with sustained direct UV exposure. Available in natural (golden-yellow) aramid tone and dyed/coated options.

Applications

  • Firefighting and rescue equipment: Used in turnout gear straps, drag rescue harness components, ladder belts, and equipment slings where flame resistance and non-melting behavior are mandatory for firefighter safety.
  • Industrial thermal protection systems: Integrated into heat shields, furnace curtains, welding curtains, and gasket reinforcements in foundries, glassworks, steel mills, and metal-processing plants exposed to radiant and conductive heat.
  • High-temperature manufacturing lines: Employed as conveyor edge belts, transfer straps, and lifting/positioning webbing near ovens, kilns, and curing lines in ceramics, glass, and composite production, where standard synthetic webbing would fail.
  • Aerospace, automotive, and defense assemblies: Applied in restraint straps, engine-compartment routing, brake and exhaust-area harnessing, and thermal-barrier tie-downs requiring both high strength-to-weight ratio and heat tolerance.
  • Safety and PPE hardware: Incorporated into fall-protection lanyards, cut-resistant slings, and tool-tethering systems for hot-work environments and utility/electrical applications where arc-flash and heat exposure are risks.

Customization & Wholesale

WebbingMaker produces AW-HR-001 to order for wholesale and bulk buyers, with flexible specification control at the production stage.

  • Minimum order quantity: Standard MOQ is 500m per width/color for stock specifications. Fully custom weaves or non-standard yarn constructions carry a higher MOQ, typically 1,000m–3,000m, confirmed per project.
  • Custom widths and thickness: Producible from 10mm to 100mm width, with adjustable weave density and ply count to meet target breaking strengths and thickness tolerances.
  • Colors and finishing: Natural aramid golden-yellow as standard; dyed and pigment-coated options available subject to yarn compatibility. Optional PU/silicone coatings for improved UV resistance, abrasion resistance, or reduced fraying.
  • Printing and OEM: Custom logo printing, repeating jacquard-woven identification, tracer threads, and private-label packaging available for OEM/ODM partners. Woven-in branding and lot marking supported for traceability.
  • Lead time: Sample lead time is typically 7–10 working days. Bulk production lead time is generally 15–30 days after order and specification confirmation, depending on quantity, coating, and finishing requirements.
  • Packaging and export: Standard packing on rolls or spools, poly-bagged and boxed, or wound to buyer-specified put-ups. Export by sea and air supported, with FOB, CIF, and EXW terms available from major Chinese ports. Documentation including commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and material test reports provided as required.

Why Choose WebbingMaker

WebbingMaker operates dedicated aramid weaving lines with quality control at each production stage, from incoming yarn inspection to in-process weave-density monitoring and final tensile testing on calibrated equipment. Each production lot is batch-tracked, and material test reports covering breaking strength, width, thickness, and elongation are available on request to support buyer QA and incoming-inspection processes.

Manufacturing follows ISO 9001 quality-management practices, and products can be produced to align with relevant EN and ANSI performance standards for safety webbing where the end application requires it; specific certification testing (such as third-party breaking-strength or flammability verification) can be arranged for volume orders. Yarn is sourced from established para-aramid suppliers to ensure consistent thermal and mechanical performance across production runs.

As an established webbing manufacturer serving global wholesale and bulk buyers, WebbingMaker has direct export experience across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, with in-house handling of documentation, logistics coordination, and compliance paperwork. Buyers benefit from factory-direct pricing without intermediary markup, engineering support for specification development, sampling before bulk commitment, and consistent lot-to-lot quality suited to demanding safety and industrial applications. For distributors, fabricators, and OEM integrators, this combination of technical webbing capability, customization flexibility, and reliable export logistics makes WebbingMaker a dependable long-term supply partner for heat-resistant aramid webbing.
