Jacquard Webbing
Custom jacquard woven webbing with logos and decorative patterns.
Overview
Jacquard webbing is a woven narrow fabric produced on jacquard looms, where individual warp yarns are lifted independently to weave logos, text, and decorative patterns directly into the tape rather than printing them on the surface. The category is typically constructed from high-tenacity polyester, nylon, or blended yarns, with the pattern formed by contrasting warp colors interlacing through the weft, producing a durable two-tone or multi-color design that will not peel, crack, or fade like heat-transfer printing. Because the design is structural, jacquard webbing combines load-bearing function with permanent branding, making it suitable for both decorative and semi-structural end uses.
Key Properties & Specifications
- Tensile strength: 800 lbs to 8,000 lbs (3.6 kN to 35.6 kN) depending on width, yarn denier, and weave density; standard polyester logo tapes typically run 1,500-3,000 lbs, while heavy nylon tactical constructions reach 6,000-8,000 lbs.
- Width range: 10mm to 100mm standard; common trade sizes are 15mm, 20mm, 25mm, 38mm, and 50mm. Widths below 10mm and above 100mm are available on tooling request.
- Thickness: 1.0mm to 3.5mm depending on yarn count and number of pattern layers; multi-color jacquard designs generally add 0.3-0.6mm versus a plain tape of the same width.
- Elongation at break: 15%-25% for polyester constructions and 20%-35% for nylon; low-stretch polyester variants can be specified at 10%-15% for applications requiring dimensional stability.
- UV resistance: solution-dyed and high-tenacity polyester yarns retain roughly 85%-90% of tensile strength after 500 hours of accelerated UV exposure; nylon shows greater UV sensitivity and is recommended with UV stabilizer additives for prolonged outdoor use.
- Abrasion resistance: withstands 15,000-30,000 Martindale cycles depending on yarn selection and weave tightness; tighter jacquard weaves improve surface wear performance.
- Chemical resistance: polyester offers strong resistance to dilute acids, oils, and most solvents; nylon resists alkalis and abrasion better but absorbs more moisture (regain approximately 4%-4.5% versus 0.4% for polyester).
- Temperature range: continuous service from -40°C to 90°C for polyester and -40°C to 80°C for nylon; short-term exposure to 120°C is tolerated without significant degradation. Colorfastness is rated Grade 4-5 for washing and rubbing.
Popular Products
This is the core branding product, woven to reproduce a customer's logo, brand name, or repeating text motif directly into the tape. It is used where a permanent, non-peeling brand mark is required, and supports two to eight yarn colors within a single design repeat.
Designed for decorative repeating geometrics, stripes, tribal motifs, and multi-color graphic patterns rather than a specific brand mark. It offers the widest creative range in the category and is commonly specified for apparel trim, accessories, and home textile edging where visual detail is the priority.
A lighter-weight, aesthetically focused construction using finer yarns and often blended fibers to achieve softer hand feel and refined detail. It targets garment straps, handbag trims, belts, and footwear, where drape, surface finish, and color accuracy matter more than maximum load rating.
A mid-to-heavy construction balancing decorative pattern with functional load capacity for shoulder straps, carry handles, and closure straps. Typical widths are 20mm-50mm with tensile ratings in the 2,000-4,500 lbs range, giving branded aesthetics without sacrificing the strength expected in bag hardware assemblies.
Formulated for collars, leashes, and harnesses, this product emphasizes skin-safe finishing, colorfastness, and resistance to moisture, saliva, and repeated washing. Woven patterns remain intact through outdoor use and cleaning cycles, and constructions are typically 10mm-38mm with reinforced edges to resist fraying under tension.
The highest-strength offering in the category, using high-tenacity nylon or polyester to combine woven identification markings or unit patterns with load-bearing capability. Widths of 25mm-50mm with tensile ratings up to 8,000 lbs make it suitable for gear where both durability and visible marking are required.
Applications
- Apparel and fashion accessories: waistbands, drawcords, belt straps, garment trims, and branded pull tabs where a woven logo or pattern replaces printed labels and resists washing and abrasion over the garment lifecycle.
- Bags, backpacks, and luggage: shoulder straps, carry handles, compression straps, and closure loops that require both visible branding and reliable load capacity, particularly in the 2,000-4,500 lbs tensile range.
- Pet products: collars, leashes, and harnesses that face constant tension, moisture, and cleaning, where woven patterns hold up better than printed designs and edge finishing prevents fraying at hardware attachment points.
- Tactical, military, and outdoor gear: equipment straps, pouches, and identification markings on rucksacks and vests, using high-tenacity constructions where the woven pattern doubles as durable unit or brand identification.
- Footwear and headwear: shoe trims, laces, boot pull loops, and cap straps where fine-detail fashion jacquard provides decorative accents with strong colorfastness.
- Home textiles and furnishings: upholstery edging, curtain tie-backs, cushion trims, and decorative binding where multi-color pattern jacquard adds a woven finish that withstands repeated handling and light exposure.
Customization & Wholesale
Minimum order quantity is 500m per color and design for standard stock-yarn constructions. Custom jacquard designs requiring a new pattern setup typically carry an MOQ of 1,000m-3,000m per design to offset loom programming and warp beam preparation; higher-complexity multi-color designs sit at the upper end of that range. Sampling is available before bulk production, with pre-production samples produced against an approved design file.
Customization covers width, color, pattern, and yarn selection. Standard widths from 10mm to 100mm are supported, with non-standard widths available subject to reed and loom tooling. Pattern development accepts customer artwork (AI, EPS, or high-resolution image files) which is converted into a jacquard weave file, with two to eight yarn colors per design as standard and additional colors available on more complex loom setups. Color matching is offered against Pantone TPX/TCX references or physical swatches, with dye-lot consistency maintained across production batches.
OEM and ODM services are available. OEM production reproduces a buyer's supplied design and specification to their branding, while ODM support includes pattern design assistance, yarn and construction recommendations, and finishing options such as heat-sealed edges, softener treatment, flame-retardant finish, or anti-UV additives. Private-label packaging and roll marking are available on request.
Standard lead time is 7-15 days for stock designs and 20-35 days for new custom jacquard designs after sample approval, depending on order volume, color count, and finishing requirements. Large-volume orders exceeding 50,000m are scheduled by agreement to ensure yarn supply and consistent dye lots.
As a China-based manufacturer, export is supported to North America, Europe, South America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Australia. Trade terms include FOB, CIF, and EXW, with shipment by sea for bulk orders and by air or express courier for samples and urgent quantities. Standard packing is on rolls of 50m or 100m, bagged and boxed, with roll length, spooling, and carton specifications adjustable to buyer requirements. Documentation support includes commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and available test reports such as REACH, RoHS, and tensile certification on request.
